July 1, 2017  (Quail Brook)

On a hot and humid day, John Rutigliano scorches the front 9 with a Net 29 and holds on for a two stroke win over Bob Keller.   Even though the rough was low and the Tee Boxes were up, the 2nd group were the only guys to shoot in the 60's.  Speaking of heat, Babetski gets into a heated conversation with the group in front of him.  Guess Babo's drives were a little too long!  Only one Johnnie, think its a Mega Johnnie?

July 3, 2017 (Warrenbrook)

Mark Schuler wins by 2 strokes on a tough day with no net 60's. Mark wins most of the pots, including a 130 yard hole out for birdie on #13. Other than Mark, only 1 other piece of junk was made by the entire group - great warmup for this week's World Series event at WB.

July 6, 2017 (Neshanic Valley -R/M)

Mike Jeffries rides a hot front to a 4-shot win over Dave Perry on his "home" course.

July 8, 2017 (Warrenbrook - World Series #3)

It was great weather and a perfect day at Warrenbrook for World Series #3.  27 players  fighting for one spot.  Well wouldn't you know it, two players got that spot. Min Minutello and Mike Jeffries both shot net 64 to qualify for the Workd Series Championship.  Min shot 33/31 and Mike shot 31/33. Both nipping out the WS Commissioner his chance at the Championship.  More to come from the Commissioner in his follow up.

Minutello and Jeffries both won over $100 which was most of the winnings.  They were both in the Birdie Pot and split the Net Birdie pots.  Min won Greenies and Mike won Gross Par 3's and tied Net Par 3's.

In individual Match play.  Babo just got by Fitz +2, Dennis Grote defeated David Ellis 6 & 5, Mark Schuler got by Ron Ceglia Jr. 5 & 3, Frank Thiry had Greg Cavallo dormie at 16 but Greg stormed back to tie the match and Bob Nowark, last year's runner up, beat Shawn Smith 5 & 3.

July 13, 2017 (Fox Hollow)

Mike Jeffries plays steady for a 4-shot win over Jim Rinaldi. Dave Perry defeats Ron Emma +2 in Match Play. We had a 45 minute delay to wait out a thunderstorm after the 10th hole and then a few showers until the 15th hole.

July 15, 2017 (Green Knoll)

Big Day for Jr !!  He rides a red hot back nine with 2 birdies and an Eagle on 18 to a net 29 and a $136 day.  Nice shooting JR !  The eagle was 233 yds out to 4 feet.  In partners and individual Dennis beats Dan +1. Fitz and JR defeat Ellis and Yusko (+3).  The Bobbies continue to defend their title over JR Rinaldi and MJ (+9).  K-Man and Greg eke out a win when Mark Schuler misses a putt on 18.  Other notables Mark's partner shot 101 / 86.  And in there's a first time for everything, Petro is in the Red this week.

July 18, 2017 (Hominy Hills)

Three DGA'ers played Hominy Hills in Monmouth County.  Michael Rolph and Larry Thiry tied with net 73 as FT-DGA shot himself out of it on the back nine with a 12 on the par 5 12th hole.  Earlier on the 2nd hole, Mike caromed a bunker shot 90 degrees which hit FT-DGA in the foot.  Combined with Saturday's hit by Ron Emma, Frank broke the DGA record by being hit twice in one week, previously held by many others.  Henceforth, FT-DGA intends to be more vigilant concerning all shots, including putts.

July 20, 2017 (Mattawang)

Jim Rinaldi wins by 2 over Min but the course was the real winner. The course starts out easy with a couple of 330 par 4s then gets harder with plenty of long par 3s and 4s. Dave Perry is the "Big" winner as he had a hot first 7 holes with 2 birdies, a greenie and a sandy.

July 22, 2017 (Spooky Brook)

Jim Petronchak wins by 1 stroke over Dennis Grote and by 2 over Mr. Minutello, all 3 should see some handicap adjustments  next revision. In general the scores were low as the course was in good shape with no wind. FTDGA edges Greg Cavallo in their match plus 1. Mr. Thiry takes a 150 yard shot from Ron Emma in the leg near the last green as he got out in front of his group, probably saving Ron from a walk of shame into the cart park area. Lesson to be learned - don't get way out in front of your playing partners.

July 25, 2017 (Dunegrass, Maine)

The 4th Annual "Up Yours North" Tournament started a day late due to heavy rain on Monday.  Mike Rolph edged Luke Wolters by 1 shot…..prior to an afternoon round.

July 25, 2017 (Dunegrass, Maine)

After Monday's rainout, we decided to try to play 36 on Tuesday but after a great lunch and several drinks, we decided to only play 9 holes.  Doug Conway recovered his swing and won by 5 shots.

July 26, 2017 (Rochester CC, New Hampshire)

The 4th Annual "Up Yours North" Tournament moved to Rochester, New Hampshire for the 3rd round.  Luke won by 6 shots on his home course.  Some interesting stats:  Mike Rolph had 13 5's on his card and averaged exactly 5 over the 18 holes….Luke Wolters (41-41), Doug Conway (42-42) and Mike Rolph (45-45) played together and all three had the same gross score on the front and back nines.

July 26, 2017 (Fox Hollow)

Mike Jeffries wins by 2 over Ron Emma. Rough was high, greens were fast and some of the pin positions were very challenging and the scores reflected that.

July 27, 2017 (Rochester CC, New Hampshire)

The final day of the 4th Annual "Up Yours North" Tournament.  We played as a fivesome with Wally as an observer…..and played in 4 hours!  Luke and Doug battled back and forth all day…and tied both nines and overall.  Luke won the tournament by 5 shots...but tried to give it away on the 1st hole (our 10th of the day) when he made an 8.  Luke took control with birdies on 2 and 3 to negate Doug's birdies on 5 and 7.

July 29, 2017 (Warrenbrook)

Bob Nowark and Greg Cavallo apparently played a different course and mailed in their results! Congrats to Bob Nowark for a stellar 60 and a 3 shot win over Greg. The next lowerst score was 71 and there were 5 scores of net 80 and above. The Bobbies nipped Greg and Ed on the 18th to win 2 up.
