September 24, 2016 (Quail Brook)

On a day that started out cloudy, cool, misty and windy…and wound up sunny, warm and calm, Mike Jeffries and Mark Schuler shot Gross 77….and were the only 2 players under net 70 with Net 63 and Net 67 respectively.  Mike blitzed the pots with 4 Birdies and Net Eagles...and 14 Net Birdies.

September 20, 2016 (Green Knoll)

Jim Rinaldi and Petro torch the field on a warm muggy day. Jim R shoots 75 gross for a net 65 to win by 4 shots. Petro has 3 birdies and 4 greenies - just missing a hole in one by inches on #12. Petto did have problems on 3 holes and ends up with 8 equities.

September 17, 2016 (Spooky Brook)

Larry Thiry cools after a fast start (not a reference to a pace of play) and is tied by Rich Fitzgerald who had a much smoother round. Both bought at the bar. Babo is probably still bemoaning the 7 he took on the last hole - but has to be happy with his 3&2 victory over Bruce Rapp, despite never hitting his own fairway, and gets to the finals against his partner and now opponent Mr. Nowark. Aerated greens kept the scores a bit higher - at least that is the writer's excuse.

September 14, 2016 (Neshanic Valley M/L)

Mike Jeffries gets a one shot win over Ceglia who shoots two over par 38 on the back. Bob Nowark shoots net 28 on the front – 16 shots better than the back - for a pretty easy 5 & 4 win over Ron Emma.

September 10th, 2016 (Great Bear - WS Championship)

As I predicted a perfectly sunny day at Great Bear for World Series Day Tournament.  The course was in great shape.  The scores ranged from net 69 to net 99.  Frankie Thiry continues his consistent play and finishes first with the only score under 70 and only one of four scores that was below par.  Frank shoots a net 69, wins the front with a net 31, wins net birdies and net eagles and even had a piece of the sandie pot.  Three strokes behind were Jay Griffith, Bob Keller and Bruce Rapp with net 71.  Bruce and Jay finished second on the front along with Jim and more on Bruce and Jay in a moment.  Another WS finalist Dave Perry had a good Johnnie.

In World Series it was an exciting finish.  Both Jay Griffith and Bruce Rapp, who barely made it in due to lack of food, finished tied with net 71.  After Bruce replenished he only needed one playoff hole to secure the victory.  Bruce Rapp had a bogey on #1 to capture the 2016 World Series Championship.  It was Bruce's second World Series win.  It was Jay Griffith's first World Series appearance.  Congratulations to Bruce, Jay and all the finalists.

September 9th, 2016 (Great Bear)

It only rained for a brief period but was very hot, muggy and very buggy at Great Bear.  Someone should have reminded Dave Perry that he wasn't playing at Neshanic Valley because it was a Neshanic style beating at Great Bear.  Dave shot a net 64 and won by 9 strokes over Larry Thiry.  Shot a net 30 on the front, 10 net birdies and tied Min Minutello in gross par 3's with 19.

One side note, they will be replenishing the front bunker on #9.  John DeSimone was 4 in the bunker and the proceeded to take 12 shots to get out and finished with a 19 on the hole.  It was a tough day for John.

September 7, 2016 (Fox Hollow)

Four members of Fox Hollow decided to play 18 instead of Thursday night skins at the last minute. Ron Emma wins by 4 thanks to several one putts.

September 7, 2016 (Heron Glen)

Four DGA ventured to Heron Glen with Mansour taking top honors.  None of us played particularly week but Mansour played the most consistent, sweeping all of the pots.  The greens were uneven and bumpy, almost like the rule of repairing ball marks on the greens expires after Labor Day.

September 3, 2016 (Warrenbrook)

Jim Petronchak edges Bobby keller by one stroke on a day with generally high scores. Bruce "Golf Tech" Rapp has a bad johnny with too many swing thoughts in his head. Jay Griffith has the shot of the day- a draw into the 18th green that didn't and ended up on the club house roof.
