2023

February 18, 2023 (Quail Brook)

Chilly February day but not not too bad. Sunny with a little wind. The first thing to note is that apparently Min Minutello (the "Legend") was reprimanded by the Caliendo league leading to a two week suspsension for alledgedly driving his cart on the fairway during a cartpath only round. This seems like a harsh penalty for anyone but especially for a Caliendo icon. Of course Min was unphased and was in the money today with a solid round. Charlie and Jim P. struggled through the round. Jim Rinaldi wins the big money with a net 75 and was nice enough to buy a round for us including Charlie's brother George who is looking to join the DGA in the near future. I'm not sure what George's handicap is but he shot a gross 83 today with 2 birdies. He says he is a 15 handicap so we'll see.

February 16, 2023 (Concordia)

Jim R nips Rick by one shot on a warm February day - 65 and we beat the rain by 30 minutes. JR started with birdies on 2 of the first 3 holes. His 3rd birdie won him a skin in Caliendo. His last tee shot on the par 3 8th was "clunky" but got better and better and he ended up with closest to the pin to cap his day!

February 10, 2023 (Eagle Ridge - Florida)

Greg wins by 5 on what may be the toughest 115 slope we have ever played. Water in play on 15 holes. Maybe it should have been named Eagle Lakes? The course was in good shape but the pace was slow since we played as a threesome although it was just over 4 hours - warm high 80s. This was the final day of our 3 day tour. Greg and Mary Kay were perfect hosts.

February 9, 2023 (Cypress Golf Club - Florida)

Mike started out great hitting every fairway on the front to win by 6 shots on Greg's home course. Perfect weather - mid 80s and sunny. Very tight holes and intimidating tee shots. Fast greens. We all staggered home on the last few holes - especially the 18th. 2 quads and a triple. Lots of laughs as usual.

February 8, 2023 (Valencia Golf Club - Florida)

Greg hit every fairway off the tee on par 4s and 5s and won going away by 8 shots. It was a perfect winter day in Naples - mid 80s and sunny. Greens were very fast and the holes were cut in spots that if you went by it was 4 feet. Greg putted well in addition to driving it great.

February 2, 2023 (Linwood CC)

Jim R routs the field on a pleasant day in AC - 40s with very little wind. Jim called the course easy and it was for him despite making 2 triples and 1 double. Rick chips in for birdie on our second hole and he and Jim R won skins for their birdies in Caliendo. Greens were quite challenging with many lip outs - the longest putt made until our 15th hole was 4 feet.
