2020

March 5, 2020 (McCollough Emerald Golf Club)

Mike J rides a very hot putter to an 8 shot win at a new course on the Caliendo circuit. Mike also finished first in the Caliendo Senior Net. Dennis had the only birdie and net eagle with a 25 foot curling putt on our 6th hole - it was also a chippie. Jim P suffered his worst beating in 9s that he could remember. It was a lot.

March 7, 2020 (Quail Brook)

Reese makes a guest appearance and nips Mike by 1 shot. Reese has the perfect ball flight for a windy winter day - low bullets. He missed shooting even par on the front when he took a bogey on the 9th.

March 12, 2020 (Concordia)

Mike survives a couple of bad holes and wins by 5 over Petro. Concordia is very tight and put a premium on keeping the ball in the fairway off the tee. Junk was very hard to come by.

March 14, 2020 (Green Knoll)

Mansour rides a solid front and back to a 2 shot win over Mike and Babo. Dave had an interesting event on the 6th hole which required a trip to the woods. He can fill you in. He had a Johnny with a sparkling 32 on the back - might have been due to a lighter load. Mike's guest Rick Newport played fast, smoked a cigar and contributed several key holes as he and Mike beat Charlie and Petro in their match. Rick is a prospective member and expects to play at QB on 3-21.

March 19, 2020 (Quail Brook)

Bruce wins by 1 over Petro. Petro had 17 solid holes and one really bad one - could have won easily. Course was wet and the ball was not carrying. The greens were surprisingly fast. We were all happy to get out and play.

March 21, 2020 (Quail Brook)

Bruce cruises to a 7 shot win over Dave. Dave birdied the 9th with a "113 foot" putt. Charlie incurred the second 2 stroke penalty in 3 weeks for hitting Petro's ball on 13. Fitz was the last victim.  Charlie was 80 feet from the cup and apparently wasn't worried about hitting Jim's ball which was 12 feet beyond the cup. Prospective member Rick Newport eagles the 9th hole with a 4 iron into the wind from 170 yards. Mike and Bruce saw it hit the green but then it went over the hill in the middle of the green and disappeared from sight. When we arrived at the green Rick checked and sure enough it was in. Three members brought beer and we spent about an hour in the parking lot after the round.
