November 27, 2021 (Quail Brook)

Cool and Windy to start but the back nine was not bad.  Billy Bylina (11??) rides a 32 on the front nine to win by 5. He wins most of the pots to take home a nice $70 payday.  Rick Newport tries to overshadow Billy's  win by taking a ride thru Perryville with an eagle on 17. (6 foot put?). Rick also won the Net eagle (2) pot. Bruce won the sandy pot (2).

November 23, 2021 (High Bridge Hills)

A windy and cold day on a difficult course - lots of ups and downs and blind shots. Temps barely got above 40 and the wind was a steady 20 with higher gusts. Mike wins by 3 over Ron - no birdies, sandy's and only 1 green. Ron's 3 nets equaled the rest of the field. After the round - Mike and Jim swore they were not playing on Saturday if it was going to be the same type of weather. Rich said "I only hit one solid shot today may be my last round ever!" We will all be itching to play by Saturday.

November 20, 2021 (Spooky Brook)

Quite a day for many reasons. Nice November weather 40s and sunny with light winds after a short frost delay. The ageless one Minny wins by 1 over Dave Perry who made a guest appearance after many weeks basking in the sun in SC. Now for the highlights. On the 5th tee Dave retells the story of the shortest tee shot in DGA history when Bruce drills his tee shot off one of the forward markers and it bounds all the way backwards across the 6th fairway. Dave says "some things you will always remember." Who knew that his story would foreshadow what would happen on 18. Dave and Minny were tied going into 18 - Dave steps up and hits a low screamer - it hits the first tree on the left dead center and flies 30 yards back behind the tee. Making it the second shortest tee shot in DGA history - you can't make this stuff up. Dave has a tough lie next to a bush but manages to advance it nicely. Min meanwhile shanks his 2nd shot into the junk on the right. He does find it and spend 3 minutes rolling it over until he is satisfied with the lie - then proceeds to hit it 5 yards. He hits his 4th across the fairway into the rough. Meanwhile Dave manages to hit his 4th shot into the trees on the left. Then carves a 4 iron through and off a couple of trees  onto the right side of the green. Minny hits his 5th into the greenside bunker and hits his 6th shot to 15 feet. Dave just misses his approach putt and then misses the comeback one for an 8 while Min holes his for a 7 and a one-shot win. Phew!

November 18, 2021 (Preakness Valley)

Rick plays best with a net 74 on a long and difficult track that was in great shape. Lots of long shots into par 4s plus the greens were very fast. Rick tied for second in senior net in the Caliendo. Min celebrates his 91st birthday by winning $15 in side bets. Mike snapped his pitching wedge on a tree on #9 - after Ron says "I thought you were going to hit the tree!" Too bad for MJ that he wasn't thinking out loud!

November 16, 2021 (Neshanic Valley (M/L))

Sunny, cold and windy. Other than that, it was a good day. RIck Newpoort catches and passes Bruce on the back nine by par-ing the last 5 holes.  Ed Korleski got lost on his way back from the Florida Keys to play some winter golf.  As he put the head cover on his driver after 18, he said to the driver u wont see the light of day til spring.

November 13, 2021 (Quail Brook)

Mike J nips Charlie by 2 shots with a 64. Charlie shoots gross 34 on the front for a net 30 inclucing 3 birdies. Mike birdies 8 and 9 and then chips in for birdie on 15. JP misses a hole-in-one on 15 by a foot. In the Partners Final FT and Fitz win their first title. The following is from FT - Fitz & Frankie defeated Rick & George +8, on the 15th hole.  The match had Fitz + Frankie up by +8 at the turn.  However, Rick + George could only cut it to down to +6 after the first five holes on the back-9.  Then on the par-3 15th hole, Fitz drilled about a 45-footer for par, which capped the victory.  Rick + George (both 8 handicappers) could not overcome the ton of strokes they provided to their opponents, who managed to keep most of their drives in play, which helped with the victory.

November 11, 2021 (Cobblestone Creek)

Rick shoots a fantastic 68 on a course with high rough and very fast greens - beating Min by 2. It was a big day for Rick - he finished first in the Senior Division and he and his partner won the 2 man best ball (Big $$$) by 2 shots over JR and MJ.

November 6, 2021 (Green Knoll)

Mike J wins by 3 over Ron SR with a hot second nine. Sunny and pleasant for November except if you live in AZ. Only 1 pot was tied - so lots of guys won money by winning a pot outright. Charlie chips in twice for birdie and ends up with the second most dollars by winning the first nine we played too - despite having a Johnny.  Larry had a Johnny after a net 35 on the first nine and rumor has it that he and Jay won money from the most recent champ and the 3 time champ.

November 4, 2021 (Heron Glen)

Mike wins by one shot over Rapp Emma and Newport but Bruce is the "big" winner. Jim Rinaldi wins $69 for a skin on 15. Mike won $78 by finishing 2nd in the Senior Net. Cool temps and fast greens made for challenging scoring.
