September 13, 2025 (Heron Glen Golf Course - World Series Championship)

A special day in so many ways.  It was perfect weather.  We had 16 players (almost 15 but Larry finally brought his clubs, we did lose Reese on 13 to illness) and 9 contending for World Series.  Three of the nine had won previous and the other 6 were looking to break through.  No bigger breakthrough than for Jim Rinaldi.  He came into today with 11 consecutive appearances without a win which is the current record and with his "doesn't matter" attitude it is not certain if he really wanted to win or not.

Today Jim hit the trifecta.  He won DGA, World Series and Quota.  A grand total of $281.  More importantly the Commissionor will never have to remind everyone that his record is continuing.  He was impressive today, he won the back with a Net 32, had 4 Birdies, 4 Greenies (there are 5 Par 3's for those who weren't sure), 2 Net Eagles and 14 on the Gross Par 3's.  What a day.

A mention goes to Charlie Connors who finished second.  He missed a 4 ft putt on 18 that rimmed all the way around the hole. It would have sent the match into a playoff.  He finished with a Net 70.

Overall it was a fun day for the group.  Besides the weather, the service at the course and the food were also perfect.  The general consensus was that Heron Glen was a hit.

Congratulations Jim Rinaldi for your first World Series win and your first major.

September 11, 2025 (Heron Glen Golf Course - World Series Warm Up Round)

A beautiful day for our annual World Series practice round.  A very energetic and enthusiastic group.  There were the riders (in a golf cart) and the walkers (the 4 horsemen).  A horsemen, Mike Jeffries came away with the win.  He tied the front, won the back and the overall with a 34/34 68. He was also the first ever winner of the hottest new game in golf in the DGA, Quota. Well, initially he wasn't but then after an audit of the cards he was awarded the win.  Thanks, Greg Cavallo for the beers as the almost winner but 2nd place finisher (we will be playing on Saturday, $5/man) .

One notable, George Canfield played as a 3 today which is the lowest handicap ever played in a DGA round (unofficially, until verified) and it sure was challenging.

All you haters should take note that these results were delivered on the same day as the round was played.  The Commissioner always delivers.
